Hive Bar —

Studio 93 designed Hive Bar in Horsforth, Leeds, as a neighbourhood bistro that brings together the warmth of a community meeting place and the intimacy of a speakeasy.

The brief

The interior needed to suit the changing rhythm of the day, from morning coffees and catch-ups to evening drinks, sharing plates and celebrations.

Our design approach

The hive concept informed the atmosphere and detailing. Striped upholstery, bold patterns, honeyed tones and natural materials add layers of interest while complementing the building’s existing rustic character.

Deeper colours and intimate lighting introduce the speakeasy influence. The layout and detailing create a coherent space for daytime visits and evening hospitality.

Studio 93’s role

Our work included space planning, furniture and finishes specification, 3D visuals, a technical drawing pack, styling, photography and videography. Trinxa was the contractor.

The finished space

The design brings the hive idea into a warm, layered neighbourhood venue, supporting the café and bistro’s day-to-evening offering.
